This is the main page of the CommunityEvents.ca site.
The calendar allows you to see all the events and programs that various area non-profit groups are running in your community.

To find out more about a particular event, simply click on that event in the calendar, and the event information will be displayed to you.

All blue text indicates a link that you may visit, all green text indicates visited links.

Using the Search Options

Searching by Organization Type
Above the calendar, there are two search engines which can help you search through organizations and event types. To search events run by a certain type of organization (eg. medical, research) use the Category search. Simply select one of the category options and the search should begin automatically (you shouldn't have to hit Go!). All events pertaining to organizations in that particular category will be displayed.

Searching by Event keyword
If you would like to search for a certain type of event, just type a descriptiive word (eg. meeting, volunteer etc.) into the Event Search field and hit Go!. Any event containing your keyword in its name or description will then be displayed in the calendar.

Using both the Category and Event Search options
You may also use both Category and Event Search options at the same time. To do this, either select a Category, and once that search is complete, type a keyword into the Event search and hit Go!. Or you may type a keyword into the Event search and hit Go!, then select a Category.

To clear your Event search and display events for ALL org categories, hit the Clear option next to the Event search field.

Note: The search engines will look for events in all months, therefore events matching your search will be displayed for past, present and future dates.

Emailing Event Information

You can email event information to anyone, either from the main calendar page, or from the Event Summary page.
To email the information of a particular event to someone, click on the event in the calendar you want to get to the Event Summary page.
Now enter the recipient's email address into the Email these Events to field at the bottom of the page.

Keep in mind that the events you see in the calendar depend on your current view (see below), and any current event searches or org categories you have filtered for.

Using the Views

On the upper left hand side of this page, there is a vertical menu listing the available view options. You can view events by day, week, month, year, or even list. If at any time you want to view events for the current day, you can click on the date at the top of any page, which is a link that will take you to a week view beginning with the current date.

Note: You can only change your view from the main calendar page - all events in the calendar will be displayed to you in the view you have set.
